Consultant Spryo Tsibogos, who had helped broker a sale of the restaurant last year but was not involved as of late, said it was closed.
In its early days, the BYOB was the second restaurant owned by the cantankerous but lovable chef Giuseppe Rosselli of La Locanda del Ghiottone, still operating at 130 N. Third St. in Old City.
Rosselli died suddenly of a heart attack in 2000, about a year after it opened.
His widow ran Il Cantuccio until February 2014, when she sold it.
